King and Queen of the Ridge
12th Annual King and Queen of the Ridge Hike/Ski-a-thon fundraiser to support avalanche education in southwest Montana. Collect pledges for one, two or the most ridge hikes you can do in the five hours of competition. 100% of the proceeds go to the Friends of Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center. Kids and families are encouraged to hike too!
Pre-register by Friday, February 14th at 4pm. Entry fee $10 (half day lift rate available for competitors). If under the age of 16, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the event. If under the age of 18, signature of parent or legal guardian is required. One release form for each participant.
Competitors must have the following equipment during the race: * 457kHz Avalanche Transceiver * Retention devices or brakes and must secure skis/boards while hiking.
Mandatory competitor meeting will be held in FaceShots in the Jim Bridger Lodge on Saturday, February 15th at 8am. Race hours are 9:30am to 2:30pm (or when conditions allow).
Awards ceremony at 4:00 in FaceShots. Awards to King and Queen of the Ridge, Prince and Princess of the Ridge, family with the most hikes, and most money raised by a team. Great door prizes! Participants names will be entered in the Grand Prize Drawing on March 23rd. Must be present to win prizes.
Live music with band the Bridger Creek Boys in the Jim Bridger Lodge.
Pledges must be submitted to the Bridger Bowl Marketing Department by Friday, February 21st at 4:30pm. Checks to be made out to Friends of the Avalanche Center. All donations are tax deductible.
