Specialty Workshops

Throughout the season Bridger Bowl's offers a number of specialty workshops for alpine, telemark skiers and snowboarders led by top PSIA and AASI certified instructors! See the descriptions below for offered workshops during the 2016/17 ski season.

Downhill Skills for Backcountry Skiers

Powder Skier at Bridger Bowl

Karin Kirk is a long-time Bridger Bowl instructor who also enjoys skinning for pre-season turns and dropping backcountry lines all spring in the Northern Bridgers.

She knows how to get the most out of those hard earned turns. Karen has the expertise to hone advanced skills to better manage variable snow conditions and ski more confidently in backcountry terrain.

This workshop is held in-bounds. Ski brakes or reliable retention devices are required, as well as a helmet, pack and transceiver. Climbing skins are NOT needed.

Monday Masters Senior Workshop

Who’s better to teach this workshop than Mike Hickey? Bridger Bowl’s former national demo ski team member and 49 year veteran instructor knows as well as anyone the ins and outs of sustaining an active lifestyle on the slopes.

Take advantage of this opportunity to join “one of the best in the biz” for a morning of high-end skiing and personal insights into ways to prolong a skier’s longevity and maximize the enjoyment found in this lifetime winter sport.

Groups also available for intermediate and advanced-intermediate skiers led by Bridger Bowl’s team of Senior Specialist instructors.

Freestyle Camp

Send the kids back to school with a full quiver of new park tricks. Bridger Bowl’s cutting-edge, freestyle- accredited coaches are stoked to host the best President’s Day weekend ever. Lunch is supervised but not included in the cost.

Intro To Ridge

Ric Blevins and Bridger Bowl’s full-certified and accredited ridge guides know the skills required to ski the ridge at Bridger Bowl. Practice will include how to safely wear a transceiver and how to locate a buried transceiver, along with current ridge travel protocols and route-finding off Schlasman’s Lift.

This workshop is for advanced skiers and snowboarders with prior transceiver use and ridge skiing experience. Join Bridger Bowl-accredited ridge guides to explore the best ridge runs of the day and learn new tactical maneuvers and decision-making skills designed to optimize ridge skiing descents.

Intro To Telemark

Up for a new challenge or new ways to navigate mountain terrain? Maybe it’s time to learn to make some tele turns!

Experienced alpine skiers, will be well on their way to learning a really fun and dynamic ski turning technique. Bridger Bowl has a long history in telemark skiing, and Brian Lojek, a full-certified telemark instructor, will help make the transition to free heel skiing feel easy.
