    • Funds raised in this event help support avalanche education in Southwest Montana. 100% of the funds raised go to the Friends of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center with $300,528 raised since 2003!

    Who
    • All Disciplines
    • Age categories: 12 and under, 13-18, 19 and up
    • Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult during event
    • Teams encouraged
    • Limited to 100 (total) competitors
    Where
    • Top of the Bridger Lift, on the Ridge
    Fee
    • $20 for all competitors
    Ticket
    • Valid Season Pass or Lift Ticket required
    Schedule
    • 8am Mandatory competitor’s meeting in the Jim Bridger Lodge cafeteria.
    • 9:30am – 2:30pm race hours as conditions allow
    Equipment
    • 457kHz avalanche transceiver
    • Retention devices or brakes
    • Secure skis/board while hiking
    • Helmet recommended
    Registration
    • Pre-registration required by NOON Friday, February 6, 2026; sign up online with a credit card
    • No same day sign ups
    • If under the age of 18, signature of a parent or legal guardian is required
    • One release per competitor
    • All pledges made before 1:15 p.m. on February 7, 2026 will be counted toward fundraising prizes
    Awards
    • 4pm in Jim Bridger Lodge
    • Community Event Series Awards:
      • Medals to top three male and female finishers, in each age group
      • Fantastic Door Prizes (must participate and be present to win)
    • GNFAC Awards:
      • Fundraising Awards:
        • Top 5 Fundraising Individuals
        • Top Fundraising Team
      • Hiking/Lap Awards:
        • King & Queen of the Ridge
        • Boasting rights for the highest average hikes by a Team and most money raised
        • Medals to Top 3 males/females in each age group
    • Entry into the Grand Prize drawing on March 28.
